NineWinters Demo
A downloadable game for Windows
The Fortnight of Winter
After the plague, the fires and the long winter, you're the one who stayed. You keep one small home warm in a frozen, emptied-out city. There's a radio on top of your shelter. Who hears it is a question for the full game.
Nobody is rushing you and nothing is trying to kill you. Come back, warm the soup, mend a wall, keep the cat close.
What's in the demo
- Fifteen days, from the first warm morning to the first cold snap, ending just as winter begins
- Three starting shelters: a shipping container, a bus, a rooftop shack
- Five districts to scavenge, with a deeper part of the slum that opens once you've mastered the slum
- Cook soup, craft, mend walls, hang wallpaper, lay flooring, place furniture
- Two modes: Cozy and Survival
- A stray cat can wander in from the cold and stay
- An idle game at heart: the world keeps moving while you're away
Running the demo
- Windows 10/11, 64-bit
- Download the zip (about 290 MB), unzip anywhere, run "Nine Winters Demo.exe". No installer, no account needed.
- Keyboard and mouse. Gamepad supported.

Wishlist Nine Winters on Steam. The demo is also part of Steam Next Fest this October. Beyond these fifteen days: nine winters, more than a dozen shelters, three difficulties plus a Wallpaper mode, and a free story update called Nine Winters: Response already in the works. Demo saves do not carry into the full game.
